Sudha was born and brought up in the town of Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. Her father, the late Sri Manda Lakshmi Nadha Rao, mother Smt Rama Lakshmi and their aunt Kum. Manda Lalitha believed that their children needed, along with food and education a healthy dose of music to be well-rounded individuals in life.

It was no surprise that Sudha was surrounded by music and singers all through her growing years. Sudha earned her Diploma in Vocal music from the reputed Maharaja Music College in Vizianagaram. Her tutelage was under such giants in Carnatic music as Sri Dwaram Durga Prasad Rao garu, Sri PV Seshaiah Sastry and Sri B A Narayana. Apart from the theory and practicals of music notes and raagas, Sudha also imbibed a deep sense of respect and devotion to her chosen field and promised herself that she would one day impart the same kind of dedication to teaching music as did her Gurus.

Sudha went on to use her education at AIR where she worked as a B Grade Artist for 3 years. During and before her stint at AIR, Sudha performed at numerous events, shining, both in the carnatic as well as in the semi-classical 

arena. Her marriage to Santhosh Dusi took her to Ireland, and then to Arizona, where she continued her teaching.

Sudha and her siblings, all of whom are accomplished musicians today (her sisters are the renowned Vizianagaram Sisters), have imbibed the single most important lesson that has stood all of them in good stead to this day: that music is more than a vocation, occupation or even a hobby: it’s the closest and most personal friend one could ever hope to have. Through their highs and lows, through their joys and losses, through their good times and bad, music has been a stable force, a peaceful entity always by their side. And that’s the experience Sudha dreams for each of her students to achieve.

Today, as she coaches young and aspiring singers, her main goal is to help them embark on this incredible voyage of discovering the harmony within themselves. From eager, but shy 4 year olds to enthusiastic but burdened (with school work) 10 year olds, she welcomes them all. From adults wanting an outlet from their everyday rush; to music lovers wanting to learn their favorite Annamayya keerthanams. Coaxing, coaching, cajoling… the raagasudha in each of her disciples... waiting to burst into the first confident note, the fist geetham, the first keerthana.
